Overview
This curriculum web could be used in concurrence with text materials in the classroom and instruction to meet the objective goals. Students will need a basic understanding of internet navigation, computer (i.e. Word or downloading files) and research skills. For most students, the content will be new, and they might have limited background information on Ancient Egypt. The BrainPOP video displayed on the homepage is a great introduction to those students who are unfamiliar with the culture.
Students will use their knowledge of computers and research to gain new knowledge of the subject. Some of the projects available will have students using their own information to create or relate to the subject matter. For example, designing their own cartouches or using their “debens” to provide them safe passage into the afterlife (in theory). Each hands-on activity is designed to help them gain a better understanding of their mission, and their final portfolio will be used as a reference and study guide for their assessment.
